Current
Endeavour Energy has taken over the running of this project and is dealing directly with the Community through both scheduled community meetings and a reference group that meets on line periodically.
Background
In conjunction with Endeavour Energy and Shoalhaven Council, the BPKTCA is participating in discussions of the feasibly of creating a MicroGrid in the village.
This technology has the potential to provide both stabilisation of the electricity network as well as giving our coastal village certainty of supply should the feed-in lines from the Princes Highway be lost as they were during the Currowan Fire in 2019/20.
Endeavour is currently examining a potential technical architecture which would form the basis of a business architecture to present to its Executive and then the community.
The project is innovative but complex and that together with COVID restrictions and other Endeavour business imperatives has seen little progress in the project beyond a concept stage.
