2025-2035 Financial Plan-“Have you Say” Special Rate Rise closes this Thursday 5th December

Undoubtedly, the Council, its staff, Councillors, Mayor White and the recently formed Finance Advisory Committee are working hard to solve the financial crisis.

Five recent natural disasters and historical poor capital work decisions have not helped the situation. The Council has a staff freeze, and capital projects are on hold. All Council business units are working to set financial reduction targets.

It will take 10 years of tough decision-making and well-considered, constructive,  and collaborative fiscal management to sort this out, including—support from State and Federal governments, which will also be essential.
