Shoalhaven’s draft Community Participation Plan for Planning and Development Matters (CPP) is on public exhibition until Friday 14 March 2025. During this time, the draft CPP will be available for viewing on Council’s website, as well as on Council’s Get Involved page.
The draft CPP will also be available for viewing electronically and in hardcopy at the Nowra City Administration Centre (36 Bridge Road, Nowra) and the Ulladulla Branch Office (14 Deering Street, Ulladulla). The Customer Experience team is available to assist with
accessing these documents at the front counter.
The draft CPP outlines how Council will engage with the community on matters relating
specifically to planning and development within Shoalhaven. It sets out community
participation opportunities and explains how and when communities will be involved when
Council exercises its land use planning and development approval functions.
The NSW Environmental Planning and Assessment (EP&A) Act 1979 requires the periodic
review and update of these plans to ensure they remain contemporary. The update of the
CPP ensures it remains consistent with contemporary legislative requirements and provides opportunity to respond to feedback and issues identified since Council’s current CPP was adopted 2019.
The draft CPP will also simplify Council’s related policy framework by incorporating the
relevant requirements from Council’s Community Consultation Policy for Development
Applications (including Subdivision). This policy is intended to be rescinded on
finalisation of the CPP.
On finalisation, the CPP will also be included within Council’s broader Community
Engagement Strategy 2025-2029.
The draft CPP is being exhibited in accordance with the requirements under the EP&A Act
1979. Submissions must be received in writing before 5 pm on Friday 14 March 2025 via

by other persons on request. All persons who lodge a submission are required to declare
any relevant political donations and/or gifts in accordance with Section 10.4(5) of the EP&A Act 1979.
