SUMMARY:Harp Concert ANU Kioloa Campus 5:00PM Sunday 11th January 2026.
DESCRIPTION:PRESS RELEASE\nHarp Concert at Kioloa Coastal Campus: 5pm Sunday 11th January 2026\nA world class Harp Concert in Kioloa\, featuring six wonderful harp soloists\, in one\nconcert only!\nThe Bangalay Room\, London Shed on the Kioloa Coastal Campus will again\nresound to the beautiful sounds of the harp. Harp concerts were a much-loved\nannual event in the Kioloa calendar until the 2019 summer bushfires.\nInternationally renowned solo harpist Alice Giles AM is Director of the Kioloa Harp\nCourses\, and she will perform alongside Jacinta Dennett (University of Melbourne)\,\nWilliam Nichols (Principal Harp\, Opera Victoria)\, Kate Moloney (Sydney)\, Kristina\nJohnson (Melbourne)\, Katia Mestrovic (Melbourne) in a program of harp solos and\nensemble.\nAll are former teachers\, mentors\, colleagues\, and friends of Philippa McAuliffe (1999\n– 2024)\, a young and extremely talented harpist who travelled from Adelaide to\nattend the Summer Harp Courses at Kioloa each year from the time she was a\nbeginner. The concert will be a celebration of Philippa's love of the harp and for\nKioloa\, and the music will especially feature the romantic harp repertoire she loved.\nBoth the concert and the Harp Courses of 2026 are generously sponsored by the\nEstate of Philippa McAuliffe. Philippa's mother Georgina will be attending the\nSummer Courses as a beginning student of the harp.\nThere will be a more informal concert featuring the harp course students on Saturday\n17th January at 5pm.\nEntry is by donation\, with all proceeds going to the Philippa McAuliffe Kioloa Harp\nFund. \nContact Alice Giles at alicegilesharp@gmail.com or phone\n0488 146433 \nFor more information on the life of Philippa McAuliffe\, contact: Georgina McAuliffe\nat georginamca@internode.on.net.

SUMMARY:Proposal by CEO to discontinue CCBs in their current form at Council meeting 16/12.
DESCRIPTION:Following our request for the Community to respond to the proposed changes to the CCB\, the Association’s Executive Committee held an urgent meeting yesterday evening and prepared a consolidated response on behalf of the Community Association and those who provided feedback. \nThere is a common thread: no one opposes review and potential improvements and/or changes to the CCB model\, but they should be delivered transparently and with consultation. \n251216 BPKTCA Letter to CEO AC -CCB Proposal No Consultation Rev A \nOn page 6 of the meeting Agenda for Ordinary Council meeting on 16 December is a Motion from the CEO to discontinue CCBs. \nRecommendation \nThat Council: \n1. Formally discontinue the Community Consultative Bodies model of engagement in its current form\, from 1 July 2026. \n2. Thank all current Community Consultative Bodies for their contributions to community dialogue and undertake community consultation in February-March 2026 to discuss options to become independently incorporated bodies. \n3. Provide administrative and financial support to assist any Community Consultative Bodies to become an incorporated community group before 1 July 2026\, and enable them as independent bodies\, be it Ratepayers Associations\, Community Forums\, Progress Associations\, to: a. consult properly with all tiers of government\, b. apply for grants for potentially up to 100%\, c. no longer be beholden to Council rules. \nNext steps \nIn February and March 2026\, Council staff will consult with the CCBs about the reform and determine the most appropriate methods to continue to engage with each as individual community groups. \nInformation will be provided about the process to becoming an incorporated group that would facilitate independence and access to external funding opportunities for projects and initiatives. Staff will provide support to assist with transitioning to an incorporated body before 1 July 2026. \nPages from CL_20251216_AGN_18307_AT\nClick here to download Agenda Item NOTES
