SUMMARY:International Women's Day Events Shoalhaven March 2025
DESCRIPTION:International Women’s Day (IWD)stemmed from the struggles of working-class women for better pay and conditions\, and has been observed since the early 1900s. \nBy then\, the English Suffragists had already adopted Green\, White\, and Violet – Give Women the Vote -as the colours for their flag. \nThe banner of IWD helped launch new campaigns for suffrage and equal rights. In Australia\, women were given the right to vote in 1902. \nHowever\, it was only in 1962 that First Nations people were offered the option to vote\, becoming compulsory in 1984. \nSee below for a list of events in March 2025 within the Shoalhaven. \nFINAL IWD Events 2025 Brochure\nClick here for a PDF copy.
